James D. Hooks, 44, Cabot, (Winfield Twp., Butler County) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 3rd in his home.
Jim was born July 16, 1976 to the late Arthur J. (2008) and Karen L. (Rosenberger) Hooks (2020).
He was a graduate of Highlands High School, Natrona Heights, Class of 1994, where he was an avid ice hockey player.
Jim was a truck driver for YRC Corp., McKees Rocks, for over 27 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local # 249, and the Kosciuszko “Boom Booms” Polish Club, Natrona. His true avocation was spending time with his family, his pets, and his “second family” at work.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Heather (Slivan) Hooks of Cabot, his son, Logan Hooks at home, his daughter, Kerstyn Hooks at home; and his sister, Linda (Gary) Walters of Brackenridge, his in-laws, Jeff (Kathy) Slivan of Brackenridge, Michelle (Dale) Hanlin of Cooksburg, sister-in-law, Jenny (Bryan) Slivan of New Kensington, his nephews, Tyler and Jaydon, his niece, Jasmyn and his great-nephew, Thomas.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents mentioned above.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, March 9th from 2-4 pm and from 6-8 pm to the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport, 724-295-3100 where his funeral ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, March 10th, at 11 am with Reverend Jonathan D. Hill officiating.
