Thomas Kendall Obituary

Thomas Kendall, 62, of Freeport, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh surrounded by his family.

He was born September 14, 1958 in New Kensington to the late Fred “Bud” and Mary (Kane) Kendall and had resided most of his life in the Allegheny Twp. and Freeport areas. He was a graduate of the Class of 1977 of Kiski Area High School.

Tom was a senior pipefitter for Allegheny Ludlum from 1978 until 2004 then became a facility specialist for BAE Systems, Pittsburgh from 2004 until the present.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Freeport, life member of the F.O.E. #1732, Freeport, enjoyed golf, jet skiing, attending the Regatta in his earlier years, boating with his childhood buddy, John Chiado, making chicken wings and making his homemade secret wing sauce, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tommy’s sisters would like to express that Tommy had the talent to build, fix, and repair anything and everything continuing the Kendall men’s family traditions.

Tom is survived by his son, Mitchell T. Kendall (Liz Korbeck) of South Buffalo Twp., his sisters, Sandy Powell of Freeport, Pamela (John) Coleman of Allegheny Twp., Mary “Mickey” Coward (Kurt Massart) of Allegheny Twp., numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, 1 great-great niece, numerous cousins and many aunts and uncles.

In addition to his parents mentioned above, he was preceded in death by his twin brother Timothy Kendall, brother, James Kendall and Brother-in-law Lou Powell.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family is requesting all attendees wear a mask and social distancing will be implemented at the viewing on Saturday, Dec. 19th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport, 724-295-3100 where funeral ceremonies will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, Dec. 20th with Reverend Jonathan D. Hill officiating. Private burial will follow in the Brookland Cemetery, Allegheny Twp.
