Edward W. Sypulski, 84, of South Buffalo Township passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in his home. He was born April 2, 1933 in Vandergrift to the late Edward and Pauline (Groholski) Sypulski. Ed resided in Vandergrift, East Vandergrift, and Upper Burrell prior to moving to South Buffalo in 1958. He graduated from the former New Kensington High. Mr. Sypulski worked for 40 years as a mechanic for the Jerome Motor Company, New Kensington, prior to his retirement in 1996. Mr. Sypulski was a member of the St. Mary, Mother of God, Roman Catholic Church, Freeport. In addition, Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, and going to the family’s camps. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, whom he married on April 23, 1955, Shirley M. (Huffman) Sypulski, his daughter, Rebecca (Charles) Moore of Paden City, WV, his sons, Michael (Paula) Sypulski of South Buffalo Twp., Walter (Sherry) Sypulski of East Brady, his 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, his sister, Patricia Darlene Orkis of Lower Burrell and his sister in law, Sally Sypulski of Kittanning. In addition to his parents, mentioned above, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Sypulski, nephews, Timothy and Randy Sypulski. Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport, PA, 724-295-3100 where a parting prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, December 23rd. Christian Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am in St. Mary, Mother of God, Roman Catholic Church, Freeport with his Pastor, Reverend Ronald Maquinana as celebrant. Private burial will take place in the St. Mary Cemetery, Freeport.
