Jack Lindsay McIntyre, 84, of Upper Burrell (Westmoreland County), passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at UMPC, St. Margaret’s, Pittsburgh. He was born July 29, 1934 in Pittsburgh to the late A. Ralph and Elizabeth (Jack) McIntyre. Jack lived his entire life on his family farm in Upper Burrell, except for his tenure as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. Jack was an elementary school teacher for 31 years for the New Kensington-Arnold School District prior to his retirement in 1994. He was Past Master and 60 plus year member of the Tyrian Lodge F. & A. M. Lodge # 694, Lower Burrell, Duquesne Commandery No. 72, K.T., Syria Shrine, Harmar, Valley of Scottish Rite, Pittsburgh, East Hills Royal Arch Chapter # 268, President in 2001 and charter member of Knights of Mecca, Past President of the Masonic Veteran’s Association of Western PA, Life member of the National Rifle Association and American Legion Post 868 of Lower Burrell, and Past Noble Grand in 2016 of the I.O.O.F. Hampton Lodge # 1006. Jack was the last surviving member of his family after his parents, mentioned above, preceded in him death. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 28th from 6-9 pm in the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport, PA, 724-295-3100. Additional visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of funeral ceremonies at 11 am Wednesday, August 29th in the Chapel of the Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Reverend Harold M. Mele will officiate ceremonies. Jack will be laid to rest immediately following ceremonies beside his parents. The following services will be held TUESDAY EVENING in the Funeral Home: Tyrian Lodge F. & A.M. #694 of Lower Burrell will be held at 7:30 pm. and the I.O.O.F. Hampton Lodge # 1004 will be held at 6:30 pm.
