Arthur W. Wing

Arthur W. Wing, 89, of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Vandergrift, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in his home with his wife and pastor by his side.

Art was born August 11, 1932 in the Kepple Hill area of Parks Twp., to the late Asa A. and Pearl (Smallstey) Wing. He was a graduate of Vandergrift High School, Class of 1949 and resided in the Kiski Valley prior to moving to Florida in 1995.

He worked in the Vandergrift Foundry, then for Alite Aluminum for 5 years in Philadelphia, PA and retired from Bremans Express, Leechburg in 1977, after 20 years of service.

He was a member of the Brethern Church of Kepple Hill and the New River Methodist Church, Wesley Chapel, FL. In addition, Art was a member of the Teamsters Union # 538, Worthington. He enjoyed making cardboard Christmas displays, fishing, camping and woodworking. He also enjoyed collecting antique metal trucks and cars, of which he had an enormous collection. Art and his wife also enjoyed going on bus trips together.

Art leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife on 39 years, whom he married on October 29, 1981, Sandra L. (Conway) Wing, his children, Stacey (Kevin) Fitch of Hampstead, NC, Randy (Marcy) McAllister of New Kensington, Cindi (David) Logan of Leechburg, grandchildren, Joshua, Erika, Layla, Emily, Tara, and Tyler and numerous nieces and nephews.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above, his two sons, Dennis and Larry Wing, his brother Harry Wing, and his three sisters, Irene Smeltzer, Marlene Daugherty, and Dorothy Baum.

A Celebration of Life will take place at his church in Florida and burial will be held privately in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, both at the family’s convenience. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME  324 Fourth Street, Freeport. (724-295-3100).
