Carolyn Ankeny Fleming, 98, of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, formerly of Buffalo Township, Butler County, passed away Friday, April 8, 2015, at Concordia. She was born Sept. 10, 1916, in Freeport, to the late Solomon Ira and Carrie (Sutton) Ankeny, and was a lifelong resident of the Freeport-Sarver area. Mrs. Fleming worked at the former Schenley Distillery, Gilpin Township, and at Allegheny Ludlum, Brackenridge. Carolyn was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Freeport, was a very avid historian and enjoyed volunteering. She is survived by her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. "Bub" Fleming, on Dec. 31, 1997; her seven brothers, Carroll, Felder, Ira, Calvin, Eugene, Merle and Clair; and her two sisters, Grace Cunningham and Irene Rusnock. Family and friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 11, and from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral ceremonies at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, in the DENNIS J.
