Catherine Yard

Catherine Yard, 67, of McIntyre (Young Township, Indiana County), passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015, in the Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Oct. 9, 1947, in Indiana, Pa., to the late Steven and Irene (Erash) Fedor and resided in Young Township most of her life. Cathy was a cook for various Indiana County establishments for many years prior to her retiring in 2002. She was a Baptist by faith. Cathy loved watching her grandchildren play sports, crocheting and cooking. She is survived her her husband of 47 years, whom she married on July 22, 1967, John T. "Jack" Yard Jr., of McIntyre; daughter, Cathie (Richard) Stiteler, of Home; sons, John T. "JT" III (Kelly) Yard, of Saltsburg, and Bruce E. (Amy) Yard, of Spring Church; grandchildren, Taylor Stiteler, Hunter Stiteler, Chaise Stiteler, Mitchell Yard, Tanner Yard, Braden Yard, Lucas Yard and Sophia Yard; her brothers, Steven (Carolyn) Fedor, of Clune, Joseph (Jeannie) Fedor, of Indiana, and Richard (Sharon) Fedor, of Charlotte, N.C.; and two sisters, Anna May (Charles) Lydick, of Mercer, and Joanne Trout, of Covington, Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Irene "Cookie" Holbrook. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the C. FREDERICK BOWSER FUNERAL HOME, 4606 Old US 119 Highway S., Homer City, 724-479-9422. Additional visitation will be held from 1 until the time of funeral ceremonies at 2 p.m. at the Spring Church Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3623 Lutheran Church Road, Apollo, PA 15613, with the Rev. John K. Ludwig officiating. Private burial will follow in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the DENNIS J.
