David J. Tornkvist, Sr., 67, of Arnold, PA died Sunday, May 14, 2017 in the Oakland VA Hospital, Oakland, PA.
David was born July 22, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Albin Tornkvist and Sylvia D. Krumholtz. He resided in Los Angeles until 1999 before moving to the Cowansville area and finally settling in Arnold. David was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the military police in the US Army from 1970-1973. After his service, David worked as a security guard for various corporate VIPs. In his spare time, he enjoyed games on computers and building model planes and ships.
David leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: David J. (Lori) Tornkvist, Jr. of MD, Sandra (Art) Guest of MD, and Terrie Lynn Moser of LA; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Kenneth Tornkvist of AR and Nancy McGee and Lisa Bowen both of CA.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers Stephan Tornkvist and Eugene Graves.
At the family’s requests, all services for David will be private. Arrangements are under the care of DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 FOURTH STREET, FREEPORT, PA (724-295-3100). Burial will be in the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery in Maryland.
