Deborah L. (McNeel) Westendorf, 75, of Tarentum, formerly of Freeport passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, in her home with her family at her side.
She was born on February 23, 1950, in Natrona Heights, Harrison Twp., to the late John Maxwell and Theresa (Gianotti) McNeel. Debbie resided in the Freeport area for many years prior to moving to Tarentum.
Debbie graduated from Freeport Area High School, prior to attending beautician school. She owned her own hair salon in Freeport for several years. She retired in 2000 from driving school buses for the Burrell School District for 25 years. During her years in Freeport, she was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God, Roman Catholic Church.
Whether she was your beautician, school bus driver, neighbor, friend, or family, Debbie was always everyone's favorite. Though she didn't always have much, she would give you everything she had. Her warm smile and generous spirit touched everyone she met. Her crafting talents were matched only by her culinary gifts—her legendary meals and baked goods brought comfort and joy to countless gatherings.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Mark (Beth) Myers of Natrona Heights, her daughter, Amy (Jeff) Young of Kittanning, her granddaughters, Amanda T. (Isaiah) Alvarez, with whom Debbie made her home, Jessica Adamski (Gary Loughner) of New Kensington, her great-grandson, Gary Loughner, her sister, Carol (Robert) Jackson of Lower Burrell, and her brother-in-law, Harry Hoak of New Bethlehem.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above, her husband Charles Louis “Lou” Westendorf on May 1, 1999, sister, Joyce Hoak and her aunt Martha Guida.
Pack your bags, Deb. One last move!
