Irene Lewandroski, 91, of Freeport passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Forbes Hospice in Pittsburgh.
She was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Pittsburgh to the late Lawrence and Helen Pietrzycki, and had lived in Freeport since 1969 after living in Sarver for almost 10 years.
Mrs. Lewandroski worked as a clerical worker for Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh before working as a LPN at Harmarville Rehab.
Irene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, playing bingo and reading.
She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Freeport where she was a money counter. Mrs. Lewandroski also volunteered at the Freeport Food Bank and was a member of the Polish National Alliance in Natrona.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Richard) Phillips of Newberg, Ore.; her sons, Frank L. (Gloria) Lewandroski of Cabot and Michael (Judianne) Lewandroski of Natrona Heights; her brothers, Edward Patterson of Long Neck, Del., John Patterson of Pittsburgh and Mark Patterson of Canonsburg; her sisters, Rosemarie Doetzer of Allison Park and Marie Williams of Seal Beach, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Evan Phillips, Bryce Phillips, Sara Lewandroski, Katie Lewandroski, Megan Lewandroski and Emily Lewandroski.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Lewandroski; two sisters, Theresa Palmieri and Angela Pietrzycki; and one brother, Frank Patterson.
LEWANDROSKI - Family and friends of Irene Lewandroski, who died Friday, March 13, 2015, may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth St., Freeport, where a blessing service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Ken Zaccagnini officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Freeport.
