Jo Anne Hill

Jo Anne (Layman) Hill, 89, of Kittanning (North Buffalo Twp.) went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at her residence with her family by her side.

Jo Ann was born April 1, 1931, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Glenn A. and Gladys A. (Bertucci) Layman. She was a faithful servant and member of the Swissvale Baptist Church, Pittsburgh and Marsh Creek Fellowship Baptist Church, Wellsboro, and in her later years, a faithful attendee of the Union Baptist Church, Kittanning.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Hill, Jr. who passed away on September 21, 2003. Dear mother of Thomas (Lyn), Glenn (Gay), Gregory (Debbie), Jonathan (Diana), Rebecca, Beverly (Russ), Rachael (Raymond), Marjorie (Brian), Leah (John), Claudia, and Esther (Andrew). She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

At Jo’s specific request, there will be no public viewing. A family viewing followed by committal services and burial in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, took place privately.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Dennis J. Daugherty Funeral Home, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport, 724-295-3100.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests contributions may be made to Swissvale Baptist Church, 7419 Schoyer Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15218 or to the Union Baptist Church, 475 Church Road Ext., Kittanning, PA 16201.
