Joan M Bowman

Joan M. “JoAnn” (Weibel) Bowman, 74, Freeport, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 in Allegheny Valley Hospital, with her family by her side.

She was born July 3, 1947 in Natrona Heights to the late Raymond A. and Florence M. (McLaughlin) Weibel. Joan resided in the Freeport and Allegheny Township area for most of her life.

Joan was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freeport, the YMCA in Natrona Heights, and volunteered at the Freeport Area Public Library. She was an avid reader, loved cats, watching NCIS, the Pittsburgh Penguins, playing computer bingo games, but her true avocation was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.

Joan worked at First Seneca Bank in Arnold for many years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 56 years, whom she married on September 18, 1965, Paul E. Bowman, her three daughters, Michele (Matthew) Frew of Plum, Terra Lynn of Leechburg, Paula (Chad) Ravotti of Buffalo Twp., her grandchildren, Alyssa (Jacob) Meghan (Andrew), Alexis (Clayton), Nicholas, Jessica, Tyler, Madison, and her great-grandson, Theodore “Theo”, her brother, James (Diane) Weibel of South Buffalo Twp., her sister, Sharon Weibel of Valerico, FL, many nieces and nephews, and her life-long friend, Sandi Vestrand of Lansing, Michigan.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above, and her infant son, Lee James Bowman.

Her family is inviting everyone to a memorial visitation from 10 am until noon on Saturday, April 30th to the Dennis J. Daugherty Funeral Home, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport, PA 16229. (724-295-3100). Private memorial services officiated by her pastor, Reverend Eric Damon will follow. Private burial will take place at a later date in Pleasant View Cemetery, Allegheny Twp.
