Mark V. Fuhrman, 66, of Buffalo Township, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at his residence. He was born Sept. 15, 1949, in Natrona Heights, to the late Charles B. and Jean (Campbell) Fuhrman. He was a lifelong resident of the Freeport area. Mr. Fuhrman was a self-employed tool and die manufacturer at DynaGrind Precision, New Kensington, until his retirement in 2014. Mark served in the Army with the military police in Germany. Mark was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God, Roman Catholic Church, Freeport. In addition, he was an avid poker player and an avid volunteer for the Freeport Renaissance Association. He enjoyed camping, vacationing at Cook Forest, scuba diving, hiking, reading, movies and kayaking. He also was very active with Boy Scouts and was a former troop leader, and coached boys and girls baseball and softball. He was also interested in politics. Mark leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Susan E. (Minnick) Fuhrman, of 43 years; son, Matthew V. Fuhrman, of Butler; daughter, Catherine J. "Katie" Fuhrman, of Buffalo Township; grandson, Jeremy M. Fuhrman, of Buffalo Township; brothers, Charles D. "Denny" Fuhrman, of Buffalo Township, and Thomas P. (Linda) Fuhrman, of California; sister, Nancy (Bill) McAninch, of Idaho; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents mentioned above, Mark was preceded in death by his nephew, Jason Fuhrman. At Mark's request, there will be no public visitation. A Christian funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, in St. Mary, Mother of God, Roman Catholic Church, 608 High St., Freeport, with his pastor, Father Ronald Maquinana, as celebrant. All attendees are asked to please meet at the church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth St., Freeport, 724-295-3100.
