Melody Jean Booker, 51, of Freeport, (Armstrong County) passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 8, 2025, in UPMC-St. Margaret, Pittsburgh, after a lengthy battle with illness. She was born on February 8, 1974, in Natrona Heights, Harrison Twp., to the late Stanley Gene and Mary J. (Thompson) Pleva. Melody lived in the Tarentum and Freeport areas for most of her life.
Melody spent most of her life working in the food industry. She attended the St. Mary, Mother of God, Roman Catholic Church in Freeport.
Melody was a music lover and enjoyed going to concerts. She especially loved KISS and Jelly Roll. The Strip District in Pittsburgh was one of her favorite places to spend time. Her biggest loves in life were her children Baylee, Nina, Braylon, and Neikko. She also enjoyed time with her dog Rebel and cat Dottie.
Melody is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are children Baylee Samone Booker, Nina Rain Booker, Braylon Matthew Woodward, and Neikko Gene David Woodward, granddaughter Keilee Jean Booker-Riley, sister Caroline (Eric) Binner, niece Ellie (Josh) Ippolito, and nephew Mick (Ashley) Binner.

At Melody’s request, there will be no public visitation. A Celebration of her life will be held privately at the convenience of the family. The DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport (724-295-3100) is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
