Norma Christine Zanavich nee Gray, 78, of Allegheny Township (Westmoreland County) died on May 21, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA due to cancer complications.
Born in Kittanning, PA, Norma had an interesting childhood before she met her husband Joseph. She became a devoted housewife and farm hand on the Zanavich family farm. She helped raise her grandchildren and enjoyed an extended fur family and Elvis Presley.
She is predeceased by Oscar Raymond Gray, father; Vera Bowser, mother; and half sister June Sturkie nee Gray.
Survived by husband, Joseph John Zanavich Sr.; daughter Christine Louise Klingensmith; son Joseph John Zanavich Jr.; grandchildren Elizabeth Marie Zanavich, Sebastian Andrew Zanavich, Justin Eli Zanavich, Joesphine Zanavich, David Warren Weston, Joshua Scott Klingensmith, Shane Donovan Klingensmith, and Ryan Andrew Klingensmith; great-grandchildren Alexander Gregory Cloudwalker, Faith Weston, Sora Elisabeth Cloudwalker, Shawn Zanavich, Jesse Zanavich, and Zeniyah Rose Armor; Daughter-in-law Bre Zanavich, Felicia Klingensmith, and extended family.
At Norma’s request, there will be no public visitations or funeral ceremonies. The DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
