Ralph S Marasia, 74, of Buffalo Township, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Harrison Twp.
He was born May 14, 1947 in Brackenridge to the late Antonio Paul and Martha (Perpiglia) Marasia. Ralph has lived in Buffalo Twp., Sarver, since moving there 36 years ago in 1985.
Ralph earned his Bachelors of Science degree in special education from Clarion and his special education certification from Slippery Rock University. Prior to his retirement, Ralph had been an educator for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and Highlands School District. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Phi Fraternity, Clarion. In addition, he enjoyed listening to Carlos Santana music, cooking, feeding and watching birds, and attending to the care of his cats.
Ralph leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Margaret L. “Peggy” (Fullerton) Marasia, his step-son, Mark DeMeno of Oakdale, his brothers, Rocco (Linda) Marasia of Buffalo Twp., Samuel (Terri) Marasia of Buffalo Twp., his sisters, Debbie (Ronald) Chifulini of Buffalo Twp., Palma (Susan Zelenko) Marasia of Monroeville, Rachele (Russell) Marasia-Smith of Buffalo Twp., his brother-in-law Timothy (Pam) Fullerton of Allegheny Twp., and his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents mentioned above, his is preceded in death by his brothers, Louis, Anthony S. and Mario L. Marasia.
At Ralph’s request, there will be no public visitation and his Celebration of Life will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport, 724-295-3100.
In lieu of flowers, his family respectfully requests memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
