Sara Jane Bouch

Sara Jane (McDivitt) Bouch, 100, of Cabot, formerly of Freeport (Armstrong County) passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, in the Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler. She was born August 14, 1923, in Freeport to the late William A. Sr. and Zoella (Van Dyke) McDivitt. Sara Jane resided her entire life in the Freeport area. She is a graduate of Freeport High School and the former Indiana State Teachers’ College, (Now IUP). She taught in the Moon Township and Freeport Area School Districts for several years. Sara Jane was a life-long member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Freeport and served many years on the board of directors of the Freeport Public Library. She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy E. (Alan) Stoops of Buffalo Twp., Catharine Jane DiMeno of La Quinta, CA, her son, John F. (Charlene) Bouch of South Buffalo Twp., her grandchildren, Julie Breen, Burke (Margaret) Stoops, Bart DiMeno, Clay (Christina) DiMeno, Carly DiMeno, Sara Margaret Bouch, and her great-grandchildren Avelyn Taylor DiMeno and Kye Allen DiMeno. Sara Jane was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above, her husband Franklin G. Bouch (whom she married on July 2, 1945) on January 10, 2011, her brothers, William A. McDivitt, Jr., John V. McDivitt and her sister, Catharine M. Rogers. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth Street, Freeport.
